miniajax.com - a nice collection of patterns and scripts
Over at Ajaxian today they have a post on miniajax.com which describes itself as “a showroom of nice looking simple downloadable DHTML and Ajax scripts”.
I’m not sure if they authored these scripts or if they just collected them all into slick looking examples. Some of the items link to other sites, but some they seem to host.
Some of these things I think would do well to write as plugins for the Mootools library but if Valerio (the gatekeeper for Mootools) doesn’t want it I think some of them would do well to be added to the CNET Library.
This goes hand-in-hand with the patterns project that we’re trying to kick off here. I think this page could really help inform that work…

Aaron, the scripts over on Miniajax.com are an exciting bunch that actually got me interested in the world of javascript and ajax.
They really are easy to follow tutorials for the most part, though sadly many of them make use of bulky prototype and its progeny.
I’m integrating mootools into the redesign of this Muslim Blogging Community homepage, and have, since stumbling upon mootools, realized this is the only framework I want to use for the entire site.
I keep on wishing there was a collection of “plug and play” mootools plugins laid out in a similar way to miniajax.com. Not because there isn’t already a great collection of plugins, but because the way they are cataloged right now seems too sporadic.
For reference, the scripts located on miniajax are not authored by the site author, and some of them (modalbox for example) have already been ported in some form or another to mootools.

There is a (very slow moving) project in the Mootools community to create a sourceforge of plugins. It’s being developed by someone in their spare time. I agree though, that something like miniajax.com would be quite useful for people.
